WHAT DO MEAN BY MEAL PLANNING?

Person who take cares of meal and decide about.
  What to serve in meal ?
  How much to spend in meal?
  How to prepare meal?
All decision about planning of meal. Meal planning refers planning of food with adequate nutrition.
Besides all these some more thing should be in mind meal should be tasty, it should be attractive look good to eyes.
With practice skills of meal planning improves.

WHAT ARE AIM OF MEAL PLANNING?

The aims of meal planning are:

. Plans meals with income of family by making plan in its best possible ways.

. Proper purchasing, preparation and service of food.

. Nutritional needs of member of family.

. Economize with labour and fuel.

. Plan meal in such a way that all three group of food should involve in diet.

. Nutritious food should be preference.

. Proper selection of food items like color, flavour and texture.

WHAT FACTOR SHOULD BE CONSIDER IN MEAL PLANNING?

The factors that should be consider in planning of meal are:

Plan balanced diet

There are three group of food 
Energy giving food : like cereals, sugar, fats
Body building food : like milk, meat, fish
Protective food : like citrus fruits, green vegetables
These all three group should be involve in diet plan to make your diet balanced.


Nutritional value

The very basic requirement of planning meal is to fulfil nutritional need of each individual.
In family there are infant, adult, old, men and women there is a need to take care of every individual nutritional requirement.

Food availability

There are different seasons in country like india so the availability of food according to seasonal variation should be considered. In south india seafood and rice are available in cheap price as compare to other part of country so in meal planning these items should be added.

Economic consideration 

The higher income families can afford almost all kind of food items easily but there is a problem with lower and middle class families.
The lower income families cannot add fruits, meat and milk in there daily diet so they can make their meal planning according to their income
they can use cheap variety of pulses
they can replace sugar with jaggery
they can add seasonal fruits and vegetables
they can use vegetable oils.

Variety in meals

We all do not like to eat same kind of food daily variety should be their in planning of meal there are some points we should consider.
use different preparation method of cooking food
include different combination of flavour
include attractive color combination of food in meal
include combination of texture in meal.


Satiety value

Satiety means meal should relieve hunger, give satisfaction and fulness. Meal should be planned in such a way that it have good satiety value.
Some amount of protein and fat food when included in meal planning give energy and prevent from hunger give good satiety value.

CONCLUSION

From this blog we conclude that how we can plan meal by putting some points in our mind like.
Plan meal according to age, income, activity. Include seasonal and local food items. Avoid repetition of food.
