TREATMENT OF SORE THROAT AT HOME

 What is Sore Throat?

The dry, painful and itchy feeling in your throat is known as sore throat. 
It is very common during winters and caused by infection like common cold, flu, step throat and by any environment factor.

We can treat sore throat at home by using ingredients present in our kitchen. And we can feel better within a week. 
In this blog we will learn about some methods to treat sore throat.

Ginger

Ginger contain many bioactive compound that are beneficial for our overall health. Anti-inflammatory property of ginger help us to treat the pain of sore throat give us relax feeling.
You can have ginger by adding it in your tea or in warm soup.


Chicken Soup

Chicken soup is the healthy and tasty remedy to treat sore throat. It helps to inhibit the movement of white blood cell and boost your immune system to fight against infection. And it also keeps you hydrated.


Yogurt

Yogurt is a good option to treat sore throat. It helps to treat irritation in throat. The probiotics present in yogurt help us to boost immune system and protect your body from infection.


Smoothies

Vegetables and fruits smoothies are good to treat sore throat. It reduces the irritation in throat. The liquid food helps fast to treat sore throat and smoothies are full of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidants and anti-inflammation these all are good for overall health as well as for sore throat. Smoothie rich in vitamin C heals sore throat faster.


Drink lots of Water

We do not drink lots of water during sore throat because we feels pain while drinking water. But it is very important to stay hydrated during sore throat as water keeps your throat moist and heals sore throat. 


Gargling 

Gargling with warm salt water gives the relief feel. When we spit out the water the germ like bacteria and virus present in throat also comes out. The salt present in water pull the mucus out from swollen tissue of throat and gives comfort.

Chamomile Tea

Having chamomile tea during sore throat reduce discomfort. Chamomile tea have anti-inflammatory properties that helps to reduce the pain and inflammation of throat and also reduce swelling. 


Conclusion

Having sore throat is very common but it is very painful as well. There are many home remedies that helps to treat sore throat. But in case if you do not get comfort by these remedies you should consult the expert or doctor for better treatment.
